FAQs

Which airport should I fly to?

The villa where we stay is 40 minutes south of Modena, so we recommend that you fly to Bologna (BLQ), the closest international airport. From there, it's only 45 minutes to Modena by train, where you'll be picked up and taken to the villa.

How do I get around?

All group transportation is taken care of! If you want to book personal travel outside of the itinerary, you will need to arrange your own transportation.

How many people will be on the trip?

We're all about small group travel, so trips are typically 6-8 guests — large enough to make new friends, but small enough that you still get personal attention.

How do I pay for the trip?

We accept checks, Venmo, or wire transfer.

What foods do I get to eat?

Savory Terrain focuses primarily on the 3 foods Reggio Emilia is best known for: balsamic vinegar, parmigiano reggiano, and prosciutto/salami. We will also eat local favorites like wild boar stew, gnocco fritto, fresh pasta, pizza, and fresh local produce. You will love it!

Who can come?

Anyone traveling alone must be 18 or older. Teenagers are welcome if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. â€‹

Can I come on this trip solo?

The villa has limited rooms and is best suited for double occupancy in each room. To keep costs down, we recommend bringing a travel companion to share your room with. If you don't have someone to accompany you, let us know and we may be able to pair you with another traveler.

I have dietary restrictions, can I come on the tour?

This trip focuses on meat, dairy and gluten products. Regretfully, if these foods are not part of your diet, this trip will not be a good fit.

Is alcohol included?

Local wine options are included in four of the food tours. For all other meals, beer and wine will be available for purchase.

When is payment due?

A $500 deposit is due by the August 15.

Final payments are due by August 31.
